AI in interviews: AI-assisted rounds and how to talk about your experience

Middle PRO

Essence

Interviews are changing along with the industry. According to public data from 2025–2026, some large companies have introduced rounds where an AI assistant is allowed and even expected. For example, Snap's mobile track has an official AI Assisted Coding round, and since late 2025 Meta has been introducing AI-enabled coding in place of one of its coding rounds (as of 2025, Swift wasn't on that round's language list). At the same time, other companies are tightening the rules: bringing back in-person stages and rejecting candidates for covert AI use. There's one rule: ask your recruiter where AI is allowed, and don't use it where it isn't.
