In three years Xcode went from local code completion to full-fledged agents. As of fall 2026 the current version is Xcode 27: it has agents (Claude Agent, Codex and others), chat with ChatGPT, Claude or any provider with an OpenAI-compatible API, local models, and an MCP server through which external agents drive Xcode. Everything is configured in one place: Xcode → Settings → Intelligence.
