What did you do at your last job?

Junior

What is being assessed

Whether you can describe your experience briefly and in a structured way, highlighting outcomes and your own role. Reciting the CV line by line or "I built features" with no specifics is a weak answer.

Answer skeleton (1–2 minutes)

  1. Product and scale: what the app is, its audience, team size.
  2. Role and ownership: which modules/areas you were personally responsible for.
  3. 2–3 key achievements with impact: numbers if you have them (launch time, crash-free rate, conversion, development speed).
  4. Stack and process: briefly, only what matters (SwiftUI/UIKit, architecture, tests, CI).
  5. A bridge to the role: why this experience is relevant here.

Example answer

"For the last two years I was an iOS developer on a fintech app with 300k MAU, in a team of five iOS engineers.

I owned the payments module and the network layer. Highlights: I moved the network layer to async/await and Codable — wiring a new endpoint went from two days to half a day; I introduced Swift Testing and we raised payments coverage from 20% to 70%, after which production payment incidents dropped threefold in a quarter; I set up the release process on Xcode Cloud with automatic TestFlight distribution.

Stack: SwiftUI with UIKit islands, MVVM + coordinators, SwiftData for the offline cache, Swift 6 strict concurrency since last year.

As I understand it, you are migrating to Swift 6 and SwiftUI right now — that is exactly what I've been doing for the past year."
