AI agents in the terminal: Claude Code, Codex and others

Junior PRO

Essence

A terminal agent is an AI agent you launch with a command in the project folder. It works with the project like a developer at the console: reads and edits files, runs xcodebuild, tests, git, linters. It doesn't need an IDE, so it works the same with an Xcode project, an SPM package, a backend and CI scripts.

For an iOS developer the terminal is especially convenient: builds and tests already run from the command line, while Xcode stays the place where you review the diff, check previews and debug.
